CAMPING
OPERATION "DALESMAN"
CAMPING ARRANGEMENTS
FRIDAY JULY 16th - MONDAY JULY 19 th, 2010
Note:
Camping in the Wensleydale area, particularly during the summer months, can be almost impossible unless you book months in advance.

For 2010 combined Operations have been most fortunate to obtain - through the help of the Leyburn Community - the use of the Leyburn Rugby Club.

This 5 acre site has toilets, water and a shower block available to us from Friday 16th July to Monday 19t' July 2010.

It will be available for Military Vehicles, camper vans, mobile homes, caravans and tents. We shall have a warden on site responsible for allocating pitches and keeping an eye on the use of the facilities.

There will be no charge for active participants at `Operation Dalesman'. Should anyone not pre-booked into the event want to use this site they will be charged £10.00 per night (payable to the Warden) and will also have to abide by our site conditions.
These conditions are as follows:
•     All site users MUST leave the site clean and tidy and in the condition it was found at the start of the weekend.
•     This is a must as we would like to use the site on an annual basis and if we fail we shall be without a camp site and be back to the situation, as per 2009, where we have to pay fees on scattered sites around the area.
•     The warden will try to keep some semblance of order on the site - please help them to help you.
Camp site location: The site is just over a mile from Leyburn Market Square on the Wensley Road just after the midway level crossing (please see attached map).

Military vehicles: should be able to park (limited availability) in a specified area in the market square. This will be controlled by Combined Operations staff.

Civilian Vehicles_ Sorry, there's no specific parking areas at Leyburn Station, I'm afraid you'll have to sort it out on the day. Hopefully it won't be too problematical as there will be other alternative parking sites.

The Leyburn Rugby Club deserves our sincere thanks for this most generous gesture towards the success of the weekend. Please repay their trust by assisting wherever possible to "use graciously", leave no rubbish (depending on disposal facilities you may be asked to bag your rubbish and take it home with you where possible) and the site as found.

Combined Operations will issue permits to be displayed on site by participants ON APPLICATION for camping places through the post. Should you not have camping permits - but be a bona fide part of the event - it will cost you a one off charge of £5.00 for the weekend - paid to the warden; of course, as you can see, it pays to book all this in advance.

This is a HUGE step forward in the development of our event for 2010 and hopefully for the future.

Please note that any violations of site conditions may result in your being asked to leave the site and a pass for future events may be refused. Keeping the rugby club site is critically important to Combined Operations Sheffield.

Many thanks
 C.O. Combined Operations Sheffield

. . and I advise you to look after yours, old man; they are all we'll have to live in when we get home.'
