MILITARY FAIR DEALER'S APPLICATION FORM

This is a prestige 1940's event. Wensleydale Railway is well established as a leading attraction - a superb 17 mile railway, great stations and unrivalled scenery.

Our aim - to make this an incomparable event - to do this we need your support. The fair is limited to 20 stalls and will be run by Combined Operations. There is a vast public support on a regular basis at this venue.

C.O.'s COMMENT:
Combined Operations has, over many years, enjoyed the co-operation of many quality militaria dealers working in conjunction with our events. . Sadly our fair in 2008, held at Leyburn Station lacked stall numbers and hence lacked the attraction element necessary to encourage the business. The two hour train service to   and from this station was a major problem beyond anyone's ability to improve.
Hence, in 2009, we moved the fair to Leyburn - theoretically the `hub' of the event over the weekend. The site was not of our choosing but was all that was available. Add to all this 36 hours of continuous torrential rain prior to the weekend and a difficult problem became an impossibility totally outside of any control by Combined. Ops or the railway!
2010 - There will be an hourly train service from Leeming Bar through to Redmire with a similar service running along from Redmire to Leeming Bar. Thus for 2010 Leeming Bar should be a hive of activity. As such, we've taken the decision to move the fair back to the more popular Leeming Bar. Despite the fact that most of the area is hard standing, it does have permanent toilets, water and wash basins available for use continuously over the weekend. In conjunction with activities that are planned that will make this a real focus for visitors on this station for the event.
We, as Combined Ops., have been privileged to have enjoyed your support over the years and also the military fair has always been very profitable for the dealers themselves. This event is growing at an incredible rate (despite the problems left behind by last year's bad weather), especially considering that this will be only the third event to take place on the Wensleydale Railway.
We take pleasure, therefore, in inviting you to be part of a major, national railway event for 2010 and the future (the decision has already been made by the railway that this will be a long standing, annual event.

1. There are toilets and a water supply on site.
2. Space will be at a premium so please occupy as small a space as possible.
3. Should you need to move your vehicle; please make sure before pitching that this is possible.
4. Once set up - if you will not need your vehicle - please park up in a suitable space.
5. We appreciate that your caravan etc. needs to be coupled to your stall. You may not be able to park your car in the same place due to space limitations:
    Special provision will be made for your cars.
6. Passes will be issued to stall holders and are valid from Friday a.m. to the closedown of the event on Sunday. You must carry these at all times.
    You may leave the site on the morning of Monday 19th July.
7. Combined Operations hope and strive to make this an enjoyable weekend for all our participants. Don't gripe - if there is a problem go and see Comb Ops.
     HQ to get things sorted, if at all possible.
8. Please leave your pitch clear of rubbish. There will be ample disposal facilities on site - so your co-operation in this is essential.
